Due to assembly error, the VIN plate fitted has been affixed on a body panel of the trailer rather than the frame. Additionally, the mechanical coupling installed may not have the correct identifying markings and description tag. The VIN etching on the trailer may also not be in an accessible location.

Due to a manufacturing defect, the wheel lug nuts may not have been tightened sufficiently and could become loose. As a result, the wheel may detach from the brush chipper whilst being towed.

The mounting bolts and nuts that are used to secure the axle assembly to the frame of the brush chipper may not have been tightened correctly. If the axle mounting bolts loosen, this could result in the axle separating from the brush chipper.

Due to a manufacturing defect, the mounting bolts and nuts that are used to secure the hitch to the towbar of the brush chipper may not meet specifications. If the hitch mounting bolts loosen or break, this could result in the towbar detaching from the brush chipper.

The compliance label on some trailers may have been printed with an incorrect Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM) and tare mass that is lower than the actual mass of the machine. In addition, the safety chains may have not been permanently marked to indicate the breaking stress as required by the Australian Design Rules (ADR).
