2018 LAND ROVER Range Rover Range Rover Sport

Due to a manufacturing defect, the high voltage battery may experience cell degradation. This can result in a loss of motive power and a vehicle fire.

2020–2024 LAND ROVER Range Rover Evoque

Due to a manufacturing defect, the passenger airbag may tear during deployment. This could cause hot gases to escape from the airbag and result in insufficient protection to the passenger.

2023–2024 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER RANGE ROVER, RANGE ROVER SPORT

The clutch plates within the hybrid transmission may not meet manufacturing specifications. As a result, the clutch plates may overheat causing material degradation and potential transmission oil contamination. This may result in reduced oil pressure triggering the transmission to shift into neutral whilst driving.

2023 LAND ROVER Range Rover Range Rover, Range Rover Sport

Due to a manufacturing defect, the threaded nut securing the engine oil cooler hose may not have been tightened sufficiently. As a result, the cooler hose could become loose and detach. If this occurs, engine oil could leak into the engine bay and accumulate in the presence of an ignition source resulting in a vehicle fire.

2020–2022 LAND ROVER Range Rover

Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear tail lamps wiring harness may become lodged between the vehicle body and a foam block. If this occurs, the rear tail lamp may not illuminate as intended.

2021–2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER

Due to an installation issue, certain 7-seat vehicles may have a latch installed with a defective weld in the second-row seat frame which will stop the seat from securing into the seat latch, this may also impact the operation of the ISOFIX child car restraint when used. If the seat is not secured by the latch a warning light will display on the instrument cluster.

2020–2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER 2022 and 2023 Model Years

Due to a manufacturing defect, the exhaust bracket fixing nuts may not have been tightened to specifications and could become loose or detach over time. This may cause hot exhaust gas to leak into the engine bay and could result in a vehicle fire.

The routing of the engine harness may not provide sufficient clearance and as a result, allow contact with the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) casting bracket. Vehicles included in a previous safety Recall P075 have received a modification which has subsequently been determined as not durable for the life of the vehicle. As a result, the engine harness contact with the EGR casting bracket can cause the wires within the engine harness protective sleeve to wear through, exposing the actual wires which may short circuit to the metal bracket added as part of the Recall P075 repair.

The mixture of chemicals used in front passenger airbags on certain vehicles may not meet specification, which may result in the initiator not properly functioning and the front passenger airbag not activating in the event of a crash.

Under bonnet fuel hoses routed on top of the engine may chafe against a plastic moulded noise suppressing material retaining posts of the underside of the engine top cover. The Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) foam pad is secured to the underside of the engine top cover by plastic moulded retaining posts and securing star washers. These retaining posts and securing star washers have insufficient clearance and may contact the fuel hoses routed on top of the engine. In this condition the fuel hoses can, over time, chafe through the protective sleeve and fuel hose. Should the fuel hose wear through, there will be an increased diesel fuel odour due to diesel fuel leaking. If this warning is ignored, diesel fuel may leak onto the exhaust manifold or onto the road surface.

Some customers have reported the inability to secure the door in the closed position, either on the primary or secondary latch. In addition, there have been reports that one of the doors has opened whilst the vehicle was in motion.

The Brake Vacuum Hose may be incorrectly installed. Incorrect routing of the brake vacuum hose can lead to a chafing condition, eventual rupture of the hose and complete loss of vacuum assistance in the braking system.

The front direction indicator lamp diagnostics do not provide the legally required double click/double flash warning required.

A concern has been identified where the battery positive cable on 2014 model year Range Rover Sport SDV6 vehicles fitted with Dynamic Response System (DRS) suspension system may clash with the DRS pipes. In some circumstances, a chafe condition could arise that may allow metal to metal contact, thereby making the DRS pipes part of the battery positive circuit.

The driver could experience abnormal noise from the front of the vehicle during low speed manoeuvring. In rare cases, this may indicate a fatigue fracture in one or both of the steering gear mount fixings.

The driver may experience abnormal noise from the rear of the vehicle when driving or when the brakes are applied. In rare cases, this may indicate that one or both of the brake caliper fixings could become detached from the vehicle.

The affected vehicles windshield may not be chemically bonded to the Polyurethane (PU) adhesive. Where the windshield is not chemically bonded, water ingress may occur and there may be reports of increased wind noise. In extreme cases, where there is no chemical bond between glass and PU adhesive, full windshield retention may not be achieved in the event of a crash of sufficient severity to deploy the front airbags. This concern may also be a non compliance with regulatory requirements of ECE43—Glass and Glazing Installation.
