2018–2021 Honda MPE GL1800

The primary drive gear tightening bolt may suffer a fatigue failure, causing the pulse rotor to drop off. If this occurs, it could lead to the ignition signal to fail, resulting in an engine stall.

2007–2011 Honda MPE ST1300A, ST1300P

Due to the piping design, which was changed from 2008 model onwards, the rear brake reservoir hose is able to repeatedly contact the speed sensor guide and a sharp edge on the rear swingarm during normal suspension operation. This can cause the hose to become damaged and, if left unattended, finally penetrate the outer casing of the hose, allowing fluid to leak.

During battery positive cable installation, some battery cables interfere with the battery box holders in an area not protected by insulation, allowing the positive battery cable coating to be worn through. As a result, this may cause a short circuit of the battery cable resulting in melting, smoking and, in the worst case, possibly fire.

The coolant hose clamp fitted to the coolant pump outlet may break due to engine vibration.

The affected units have an improperly manufactured fuel valve diaphragm and the fuel valve may drip fuel.

Die to fatigue a crack may develop in the brazed portion of the air vent pipe in the bottom of the fuel tank, resulting in fuel leakage.
